Florida sun turns headlight lenses yellow and cloudy faster than almost anywhere else. Foggy lenses cut your light output at night and make an otherwise clean car look tired. We sand the oxidation off, polish the lenses clear, and seal them so the haze doesn't come right back. It's a quick, inexpensive job that makes a real difference.
Headlight restoration removes the oxidized, yellowed layer from polycarbonate headlight lenses and restores them to clear. The lenses leave the factory with a UV coating, and once that coating breaks down, the plastic underneath hazes over. We wet sand through the failed layer in progressive steps, machine polish the lens back to optical clarity, and apply a new UV sealant so the fix lasts instead of clouding up again in a few months.
This is a safety issue before it's a cosmetic one. Cloudy lenses scatter and block a large share of your headlights' output, which matters on dark roads and in the heavy rain we get here. Restoring the lenses brings the beam pattern back to something close to new. It's also far cheaper than replacement; modern headlight assemblies can run hundreds or thousands of dollars each, and restoration costs a small fraction of that.
Have it done when the lenses look yellow or milky in daylight, when night visibility has gotten noticeably worse, or when you're getting the car ready to sell, because foggy headlights age a car instantly. If the haze is on the inside of the lens or the housing is cracked and holding moisture, restoration won't fix it, and we'll tell you that up front rather than sand a lens that needs replacing.
